By Hollywood Volunteers February 22, 2014 At 1215 hours Station 7, Station 1, Station 9, Station 2, EMS Station 79 and EMS Station 19 were dispatched to 42278 Riva Ridge Drive for the House Fire. Engine 72, Engine 73, Engine 74, Rescue Squad 7, Chief 7, Chief 7A, and Chief 7B responded on the incident with 23 Volunteers. Engine 73 was first to arrived. Laying a supply line from the street, finding a one story single family home with smoke showing. The crew of Engine 73 deployed an attack line to the structure finding fire in the attic area. Chief 7B was next to arrive establishing the Hollywood Command. Engine 10 arrived and picked up the supply line and backed up Engine 73 inside the structure. Command assigned Engine 73 and Engine 10 to Fire Attack with Captain 7 as the supervisor. Engine 74 and Truck 1 arrived and were assigned the Vent Group with Lieutenant 7 as the supervisor. Chief 7 arrived and took over the Fire Attack Group with 3 lines in service inside the structure. Engine 93 arrived along with Engine 72 who were assigned to assist the interior crews with fire attack. The units from Station 2 arrived on the scene and were assigned RIT duties. Due to the strong work of all crews operating at the fire ground, the fire was knocked and deemed under control within 20 minutes. Command held all units for overhaul before scaling the assignment back 20 minutes later to Station 7 and 1. At 1411 hours Command was terminated and all units cleared the fire ground. 1 Firefighter had a minor injury while operating on the incident but refused transport. The State Fire Marshal is investigating the incident and Red Cross have been called to help the family. All units from Hollywood were back in quarters by 1439 hours.
