Accident on Route 4 injures two, one flown

• Sunderland, MD - On Wednesday, Jan. 14, at about 8:30 a.m., there was a report of an accident on Route 4 South and Lower Marlboro Road.
• Fire department units from Huntingtown and Dunkirk responded to the call.
• Two vehicles were involved in the accident. One driver was trapped in his vehicle against the guard rail and when the driver was removed he was treated by the Huntingtown ambulance team and then flown out by helicopter.
• The helicopter had to land in middle of Route 4 South as it was unsafe to land anywhere else because of the weather conditions.

The driver of the other vehicle was transported to Calvert Memorial Hospital by Dunkirk ambulance.
