Over the past week, the MSFA has announced several incentive opportunities that are funded from the SAFER Recruitment and Retention grant program. These incentives include: Statewide Recruitment Day - April 12 - We have selected April 12 which is the start of National Volunteer Appreciation Week across the U.S. to hold open houses across the state to invite the public in our stations and learn how they can participate as a volunteer responder or administrative member in their local Fire/Rescue/EMS department. We are asking member departments to commit to an open house from 11am until 4pm and advertise within your communities for this event. As an incentive, we offer each participating company a $200 incentive award to cover costs of hosting the open house. Registration is open in the Document Library in the Members Only section of the MSFA web page. Conference Sponsorship Opportunities - The MSFA has committed to sponsoring six personnel to FDIC in Indianapolis from April 22-25, Fire Rescue International in Atlanta from August 26-29, and IAFC/VCOS Symposium in the Sun in Clearwater Beach, Florida from November 12-15. For additional information, see the MSFA announcements. Application forms are in the Document Library and should be submitted to the Recruitment & Retention Committee or Training Committee chairs. We are also looking to sponsor members for the full Firehouse Expo program on July 14-18 in Baltimore. Look for upcoming announcements for this sponsorship opportunity.
