During the middle of the morning Ambulance 67 called in a motor vehicle accident. Companies 6 & 3 were alerted for the call. Rescue 3 was added due to Squad 6 being Out of Service.
Rescue 3 responded quickly after dispatch. While en route Ambulance 67 reported 1 occupant was trapped. Squad 1 was added then added to the call. Rescue 3 arrived finding a 2 vehicle head on style accident. The crew went to work on the sedan removing the windows, doors, and roof. En 61 arrived and assisted with clearing the debris from the car and placed a hose line in service for protection. The ambulance crew called for a helicopter for the occupant. After extraction was complete the occupant was removed and loaded into the awaiting ambulance and taken to the landing zone handled by En 61. All other patients were transported to the local hospital.
Rescue 3 was able to return to quarters shortly after cleaning up from the call.
