Save Daylight, Save Lives; Replace Batteries in Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarms

Daylight Saving Time (DST) begins on Sunday, March 10. As you set your clocks ahead one hour, CPSC urges you to replace the batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide (CO) alarms at home.
Proper installation, operation and maintenance of smoke and CO alarms reduces the risk of injuries, death and property damage. You should have working smoke and CO alarms in your home; if you do not, now is the time to install them!
Smoke and CO alarms tips:
CPSC recommends installing smoke alarms on every level of the home, inside each bedroom and outside sleeping areas.
CO alarms should be installed on each level of the home and outside sleeping areas.
Test the alarms monthly and replace the batteries at least yearly, unless the alarms have sealed 10-year batteries.
