MEMORIAL SERVICE TO BE HELD JUNE 7, 2015
Honoring Maryland's Fallen Heroes for 10 years
ANNAPOLIS, Md. – May 11, 2015 – The Maryland Fire-Rescue Services Memorial Foundation is honored to invite the public and media to attend its 10th annual memorial service for the state's fire and rescue personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice. Five fallen heroes will be added to the Wall of Honor this year.
• Lt. James Bethea, Safety Officer, Baltimore City Fire Department
• Robert W. Fogle III, Fire Apparatus Driver Operator, Baltimore County Fire Department
• Kevin Jenkins, Frederick County Fire & Rescue
• Erik Steciak, Paramedic, Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company
• Mitchel D. Dobbins, Western Enterprise Fire company, Co. 4

To mark the 10th anniversary, members of the memorial foundation will read the names of every member of the state's fire and rescue family who have died in the line of duty in the last 10 years.
"Every year, the service becomes more emotional, more moving," said Chief Gene Worthington, President of the Foundation. "It is always a somber occasion when we add a name to the wall, but it is important that we pause and honor our brothers and sisters who willingly gave of themselves to help others. We place our safety in their capable hands for many years and this ceremony is a promise that we place their bravery in our hearts and memories forever."
The service will be Sunday, June 7, 2015, at 2 p.m. at the Maryland Emergency Services Memorial Park, 101 Calvert St., Annapolis, Md. Assistant Chief of Loudoun County Department of Fire Rescue and Emergency Management Matthew Tobia will serve as this year's keynote speaker. The Maryland Fire-Rescue Memorial is a commemorative park that includes a sculpture and memorial wall listing the names of more than 400 Maryland heroes.
