Department Mourns Loss of Member James M. Adams, Jr.

The Officers and Members of the Mechanicsville Volunteer Fire Department regret to announce the passing of Board of Director and Life Member James M. "Buddy" Adams, Jr. Buddy joined the Mechanicsville Volunteer Fire Department in 1955 and had sixty-one years of service to the department.

Buddy served on several committees and was the Chairman the Department's Memorial committee in 1997 where he was instrumental in it's design and oversaw it's completion. He has maintained it ever since.

In 1999, he was awarded his Life Membership after returning to the department.

In 2001, Buddy served on the Golden Beach station committee and most recently has been serving on the renovation committee for the main station.

Buddy has served as a Board of Director since 2000.

He will be missed and our deepest sympathies and condolences are extended to his family and friends.
