Squad Responds On MVA In Avenue

On Monday afternoon at 1258 hours, a rescue assignment was alerted for a reported motor vehicle accident with injuries on Colton Point Road in the area of Oakley Road. Companies 5, 59, 19, 29 and 79 were alerted to the incident. Ambulances were on the scene and responding to several other EMS calls at the time of the incident. Squad 5 responded just after dispatch and arrived to locate two vehicles off the roadway with 3 patients. The squad crew began securing both vehicles and started patient assessments for the approaching ambulances.
The first vehicle had heavy damage from a roll over, while the second had front end damage. All three patients needed transport to the hospital. Ambulance 597 transported two patients both priority three. Ambulance 298 transported a single priority two patient. Once the ambulances transported to the hospital the Squad remained on the scene for a short time to assist before turning it over to the St. Mary's County Sheriffs Office. Squad 5 returned to quarters within an hour.
