Early Morning Cut Job on the Southside

At 00:22 hours units from Solomons and St.Leonard were alerted by Calvert Control Center to Solomons Island Rd South at Coster Rd for the motor vehicle crash reported serious. While responding additional information received from the Calvert Control Center and PD on scene of patient conditions and early activation of the MSP helicopter was requested. Units arrived to find a single vehicle that had collided with the center guard rail and a single occupant unresponsive. The crew from the Rescue Engine went to work removing the roof as well as a side blow out to gain access and the patient and the ability to get the patient removed from the car. The patient was turned over to awaiting Ambulance 78 and the Medic from CALS. Trooper 7 landed at the accident scene on Rt.4 where the patient was flown to a near by trauma facility. Units assisted the Calvert County Sheriff's Officer with lighting due following investigations and cleared shortly after .
