Sunday, the Maryland Fallen Firefighters Monument Foundation hosted the annual recognition ceremony for the fallen firefighters and rescuers of Maryland at the monument in Annapolis. This year, one new name was added to the list - Firefighter-Paramedic Lieutenant John E. "Skillet" Ulmscheider from Prince Georges County. Many thanks to the Red Knights Motorcycle Club for helping prepare the site, to the MFCA and MSFA for helping with the day's activities, and all the honor guards from the various counties that participated in the ceremony. Posted here are some of the pictures from my lens during the ceremonies. Thanks to Jim Brown and his crew for their work, and an special thank you to NBC Channel 4 from Washington and their newscaster Darcy Spenser for attending and broadcasting some scenes from the event. They were the only station that attended. There are now 410 names on our Wall of Heros. Fortunately, the severe weather that was forecast held off until everything was finished.
