Wagon & Truck Extricate in Dunkirk

During the height of morning rush hour, units were dispatched to Southern Maryland Boulevard and Mt. Harmony Road for the reported vehicle accident with entrapment.

Engine 52, Truck 5, Ambulance 58, Chief 5, Chief 5A, Chief 5B, and Safety Officer 5 responded immediately along with Squad 6 (Huntingtown VFD), Squad 1 (North Beach), and the medic unit.

Units from Dunkirk arrived to find a vehicle on its side with a single occupant pinned inside.

Crews went to work stabilizing the vehicle the vehicle using Res-Q-Jak struts and Squad 6’s grip hoist.

The vehicle was lifted to free the driver’s trapped armed and then the roof was flapped which allowed us to access the driver.

She was subsequently packaged and transported to a nearby trauma facility for evaluation.

Dunkirk’s Heavy Rescue Squad is currently out of service for mechanical repairs.
