Working Trailer Fire |

On Saturday, June 13, 2020, at 2:28 a.m., units from Bay District, NAS Patuxent River, Ridge, Hollywood, and Valley Lee were dispatched to to 20741 Hermanville Road at the D & B Trailer Park, for the reported trailer on fire. Engine 32 & Squad 3 arrived on the scene to find a single wide trailer with fire showing from the front and rear of the trailer, approximately 60% involvement. Two occupants were able to escape the residence, with one transported to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital with smoke inhalation where he was treated and released. The occupants were alerted by the smoke alarm sounding, the smoke alarms had recently been installed by Bay District VFD though our smoke alarm program. The resident was the mother of one of our Firefighters here at Bay District and an Honor Guard member at SMVFA a GoFundMe account has been set up to assist them with recovering from this tragic fire.
