On 8/14 at 2210 hrs, HVFD units were dispatched for a house fire from a possible lightning strike. Chief 6a arrived on scene with a working fire in the attic area. 62 arrived and started to extinguish the fire in the attic. Other units arrived and started to assist with the extinguishment and pull ceilings. With the amount of fire from the attic, units were ordered to evacuate the house and once the bulk of fire was knocked down companies went back in to extinguish the remainder of the fire. All units on the fire ground did an excellent job and units cleared in about 3 hrs. |
