The Solomons Volunteer Rescue Squad and Fire Department (SVRSFD) is proud to announce that we will be hosting the 79th Annual Southern Maryland Volunteer Firemen's Association (SMVFA) Convention at the Solomons Volunteer Rescue Squad and Fire Department
Solomons Volunteer Rescue Squad and Fire Department (SVRSFD) Past Chief, Past President, and Lifetime Member, John D. Pardoe Jr., will be installed as President of the SMVFA
The two-day event will bring together fire departments from across Southern Maryland to honor and celebrate the dedication of volunteer firefighters and first responders. It will also offer opportunities for camaraderie, reflection, and fun for both participants and the local community.

Meeting, Dinner & Awards:
Parade:
- Date: April 26th, 2026, at Noon.
- Registration will take place at the Solomons Volunteer Rescue Squad and Fire Department at 13150 HG Trueman Road, Solomons, MD 20688.
- Registration Time: Starts at 8 am and Closes at 10 am SHARP.
- Parade Route: Beginning at the Tiki Bar located at 85 Charles Street, Solomons, MD.
- Spectator Gathering: Along Solomons Island Road on the Island.
- End of the Parade: Route: Calvert Marine Museum.
- Post Parade Festivities: Solomons Volunteer Rescue Squad and Fire Department at 13150 HG Trueman Road, Solomons, MD 20688.
Important Deadlines:
- RSVP for Departments: Departments wishing to participate must submit their registration forms by April 1, 2026. Please email convention2026@svrsfd.org. or complete the online registration at: RSVP on SMVFA Website
- Convention Book Ads: The deadline for submitting ads is March 4, 2026, to ensure design and printing.
